Community Guidelines
Last Revised: October 2026
1. Mission & Creative Philosophy
Human Art Launch provides a daily launchpad celebrating independent visual artists creating original artwork in traditional and digital mediums. Creators showcase craftsmanship, receive peer feedback, and connect with collectors, galleries, and fellow artists.
Our community is governed by three foundational standards:
- Craftsmanship & Agency: We value the time, discipline, intentionality, and deliberate creative decision-making required to produce original art.
- Workflow Transparency: Artists share work-in-progress proof to substantiate their creative process and inspire the community.
- Creator Ownership: Artists retain 100% of their intellectual property rights. We never sell, license, or feed artwork to machine learning training datasets.
2. Accepted Mediums & Prohibited Methods
To maintain platform integrity, all showcased works must be original creations produced through recognized physical or digital art techniques.
Accepted Mediums
- Traditional Physical Art: Oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, charcoal, graphite pencil, ink, pastels, printmaking, clay sculpture, and wood carving.
- Digital Painting: Hand-drawn strokes in Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Krita, Rebelle, or Corel Painter using drawing tablets and styluses.
- Vector & Graphic Illustration: Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, or vector software with manually placed nodes, anchors, and Bézier curves.
- 3D Modeling & Sculpting: Blender, ZBrush, Maya, Cinema 4D, or equivalent software where geometry, topology, and textures are sculpted, modeled, or textured by the artist.
- Optical Photography: Direct optical camera captures. Manual color grading, exposure balancing, and lens adjustments are permitted.
Prohibited Methods
- Text-to-Image Generation: Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, Flux, Imagen, Ideogram, or similar generative AI models.
- Generative AI Infilling & Outpainting: Generative fill, AI uncrop, or outpainting algorithms that synthesize artwork elements.
- AI Face & Body Synthesizers: Neural network face-swapping, procedural deepfake likenesses, or synthetic character generators.
- AI Prompt Overpainting: Generating an AI base image and lightly tracing, filtering, or painting over it to simulate handmade art.
- Automated Generative Upscaling: Generative upscalers that hallucinate or synthesize artificial detail.
3. Process Shots & Verification Proof
To verify original authorship and share creative workflows, artists upload 1 to 3 work-in-progress (WIP) process shots alongside their finished artwork:
- Early Thumbnail Sketches & Rough Lineart: Initial pencil gestures, composition thumbnails, or digital line drafts showing early concept development.
- Drawing Software Layer Breakdowns: Screenshots of active layers in tools such as Photoshop, Procreate, Krita, or Clip Studio Paint showing line, color, lighting, and background separation.
- Progressive Work Stages: Intermediate renders, color blocking phases, value studies, or 3D viewport wireframes.
- Physical Studio Context: For traditional media, photos of the work on an easel, workbench, or sculpture stand showing palettes, brushes, or drawing tools in progress.
Process shots are displayed publicly on your artwork detail page, providing collectors and community members transparent insight into your craftsmanship.
4. Community Conduct & Voting Ethics
Human Art Launch is a collaborative community. All participants are expected to maintain professional and ethical conduct:
- Respectful Interaction: Constructive critique and peer encouragement are welcomed. Harassment, hate speech, bullying, defamation, personal attacks, and discriminatory remarks will result in immediate account suspension.
- Voting & Daily Integrity: The platform runs daily 24-hour showcases. Each registered user may cast one vote per artwork per day. Coordinated ballot stuffing, bot automation, purchasing votes, or vote-swapping schemes violate platform integrity and disqualify associated artworks.
- Intellectual Property & Attribution: Only upload work that you personally created or hold full legal rights to publish. Submitting plagiarized art, unauthorized traces, or copyrighted assets owned by third parties is strictly prohibited.
- No Spam or Promotional Link Dumping: Comment threads and profile bios must not be used for unsolicited promotional spam, affiliate schemes, or misleading outbound redirects.
5. Moderation, Reporting & Appeals
Every published artwork features a community flag and reporting action. If you encounter content that violates our standards:
- Click the flag icon on the artwork card or detail view.
- Select the relevant reason (such as Suspected AI Generation, Copyright Infringement, Inappropriate or NSFW Content, Harassment, or Spam).
- Provide relevant reference URLs or descriptive context to assist investigation.
Automated Concealment: When an artwork receives multiple independent community flags, our moderation pipeline temporarily conceals the artwork from public discovery feeds pending review by platform administrators.
Manual Staff Review: Administrators review reported artworks alongside submitted WIP process shots, file metadata, and community notes to reach an objective decision.
Appeals: If you believe your artwork was mistakenly concealed or disqualified, you may submit an appeal with additional process records (such as time-lapse recordings, original PSD/procreate project files with complete layer history, or raw studio captures) to [email protected].
